Sacramento Celebrates Earth Day 2011

Sims Recycling Solutions, the world’s largest electronics recycler is partnering with Cal Expo and KCRA to provide the community with an electronics recycling event to raise money for the Sacramento Habitat for Humanity. This event will be held on Earth Day, Friday, April 22nd, 2011 at Cal Expo, Parking Lot D at 1600 Exposition Blvd. from the hours of 6:00am-7:00pm.

PS 87 Playground To Play Host To Electronics Recycling Event

Sims Recycling Solutions, the world’s largest electronics recycler is holding an e-waste recycling event on Saturday, April 9th at the PS 87 Playground located at 77th street between Amsterdam & Columbus Aves in New York, NY. This event will run from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and is open to all New York City residents. Event sponsors include the Upper West Side Recycling Center and NYC Councilperson Gale Brewer’s Office.

All Sims Recycling Solutions Facilities in California Receive Environmental and Safety Management Certifications

Sims Recycling Solutions, the world’s largest electronics recycler announced today that all of their electronics recycling facilities in California have received OHSAS 18001:2007 certification and ISO 14001:2004 certification from Bureau Veritas. These certifications require adherence to specified requirements of environmental, health and safety management.

Chicago Recycler Shows Local Businesses Some Appreciation

Sims Recycling Solutions, the world’s largest electronics recycler is offering free electronics recycling services to give back to the community and show local businesses in the Chicago area some appreciation. Sims will allow local businesses to drop off electronics for recycling at no cost for two days on Thursday March 10th and Friday March 11th from 8:00am – 4:00pm at four drop off locations. First Friday of the Month - Electronics Recycling Event

Significant Increase in E-waste Volumes Seen at January First Friday of the Month Recycling Event

Sims Recycling Solutions, the world’s largest electronics recycler nearly tripled their December volumes during the January 2011 first Friday of the month electronics recycling event at their facility in Roseville, CA. At the first drop off event of 2011 Sims Recycling Solutions welcomed over 80 cars and collected close to 10,000 lbs of electronics for recycling.

Sims Recycling Solutions Responds to PBS "Digital Dumping Ground" Documentary

On Tuesday June 23, 2009 the PBS show Frontline aired a documentary, "Digital Dumping Ground," that focused on the trail of e-waste and where our electronics end up after they are broken down and "recycled" in the United States. Producer Peter Klein found that most of this hazardous waste ends up in Ghana, China, and India where many of the people are over-exposed to lead and other toxins that leak into the soil and air when the e-waste is crushed to make room for more. They also found that many of the hard drives are still intact and full of personal information, such as credit card numbers, bank account numbers, etc., making the dumping grounds a very popular hangout for scam artists in these poverty stricken areas.
