According to Earthday.org, Earth day originated from a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, Senator Gaylord Nelson after he witnessed the 1969 massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, CA. The first Earth day influenced the development of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species Act. Earth Day now is celebrated by millions all over the world with a goal of one billion acts of green by 2012.

The EPA states that only 18% of TVs, cell phones and computer products ready for end-of-life management were collected for recycling. Help Sims Recycling Solutions keep electronic waste out of landfills by dropping of your old electronics at a local facility or event.
