Sims Recycling Solutions, the World’s Largest Electronics Recycler, recently announced its membership in the Electronics Recycling Coordination Clearinghouse (ERCC), a forum for coordination and information exchange among the state and local agencies that implement electronics recycling laws and impacted stakeholders.
Participation will allow Sims Recycling Solutions to help identify developing issues and solutions that affect the e-recycling industry. With the ability to provide insight directly to lawmakers, it will ensure a more streamlined platform for communication.
The joint effort showcases the willingness amongst industry leaders and state agencies to ensure the responsible management of end-of-life electronics. Although laws in their respective state may differ in makeup, there are several principles and goals that can be implemented in a consistent manner.
“The emergence of organizations like ERCC show an immediate need for the maturation of the legislative landscape,” said Sims Recycling Solutions Renee St. Denis, Vice President of Business Development.
“As the global leader in electronics recycling, we are pleased to participate in the evolution of nationwide legislation that will significantly affect electronic manufacturing,” she added.
Sims Recycling Solutions is committed globally to making a positive difference and fostering new ideas.
Each year Sims Recycling Solutions recycles over 240 million pounds of redundant electronics in North America alone. Processes range from high-end asset management and refurbishment to high-capacity recycling plants designed to process 10,000 pounds of end-of-life electronics per hour.
